Dallas – The Bold & the Beautiful – Friends – Sex & the City – Girls. The sexual decadence and the destruction of women’s feminility by design in five steps.

From the stars to the stables. How tv productions reduced the image of ladies.

I was thinking about how depressive Lena Dunham’ femininity is, then I moved back, step by step, till the late seventies tv series productions and followed the decadence step by step during the eighties and the nineties and the two thousand’s tv productions meant to give women and men a pattern of behaviour or that ended giving it even if they didn’t mean it;

Here’s the result of my meditation:

Dallas; stunning wives, it is not mentioned whether they married virgin, probably they did, they married young in the early twenties, didn’t wait too long for marriage after they found the “right one”, the kisses are very passionate and the wives are sexier than any lover can be, there is lot of adultery, never among the in-laws though, but the characters are very fascinating and “superior” quality, they say “make love” the word sex just doesn’t exist it, it exists: passion, husband, lover. Maybe some children are not of the husband’s but maybe it’s just a rumour of envious people.

It reminds me of Lady Diana.

The Bold & the Beautiful; stunning girlfriends, she the heroine Caroline is virgin at around nineteen but he Ridge isn’t, she ‘s a step beyond the previous pattern: she wants to make love – love not sex – even without being married but only with the man she’ll later marry aka the official fiancée, she somewhat manages to convince Ridge but then the engagement breaks up and she marries Ridge’s brother to then become her lover being actually the lover of her brother in law.

So we have two new sins: sex before marriage and adultery+ – adultery with the in-law-.

Friends; women are beautiful though more down to earth, no “shining stunning” as in the above productions, they are unmarried around thirty, “have sex” and don’t say “to make love” any more, they go with unmarried guys, sometimes they are engaged sometimes don’t, they name contraceptive out of duty towards the spectators not to make them think they can do the same without. They want to marry, but they seem to have little chances to do it, sex during the engagement or with the boyfriend seems unavoidable.

It is funny, but the previous productions seemed superior, both for quality of relationship: if it isn’t love it is passion and women are I don’t know how to say, they are sexually alive but they’re no tarts, they don’t have sex to please the boyfriend, either there’s passion or they don’t do anything, but strangely they jump into passion quite often, so they don’t miss it for long, there can be passion also with the ex-husband and re-marriage. In Friends when they marry it’s like they say “finally they managed to find one” and they marry around thirty thirty-two. Reminds me of Prince Harry.

Sex & the City; they are unmarried till forty but extremely sexually active during the thirties, they’re so tough when they talk about sex they seem unpleasant, in the previous two productions they didn’t say “sex” here they don’t say “love” the locution “to make love” is almost inexistent, the actresses have a beautiful body, but there’s something unpleasant in their faces: the grin. They have sex with the boyfriend who’s a man with already some grey hair and seems a bit seedy, they also have casual sex with men they know since little. They manage to marry at forty.

Girls; they don’t care about marriage, have sex in a depressive way, they don’t even seem interested in the boyfriends they sleep with and look non particularly beautiful. No one envies them.

Love, passion & associated feelings have gone. They seem to belong to another era.

All this proceeds all along with the legalization and the more and more trivialization of abortion; when abortion was prohibited or a scandal, women were pushed to find a good husband, like Bobby, and have sex with him. They were also pushed to be very beautiful and sexy wives. Now they are pushed to have sex even without being in love and insist they can have as many abortions as they like at taxpayers’ expenses, they remind me of the vulgar revellers in the english streets. They are drunkards and do the mid-finger gesture. Yes, I relate this to the trivialization of abortion, it is obvious.

Victoria Principal was very much beloved because though a wife and a mother she was also sexy and beautiful and in love with the husband.

The difference is stunning, the new girls are not only vulgar but also less sexy.

Strangely, even if Sex &the City and Girls have a worse reputation, the real big step from a pattern to another is represented by Friends; Sex & the City is just what happens if they don’t marry at thirty. Girls is so depressive they don’t even try to lure the spectators with beautiful actresses, which means they’re about to close the business.

P.S.

Another chilling detail is about kissing, in the latest productions kisses are absent or anyway “awkward”, this goes together with the absence of the words love-passion – that were dominat in the first two series where in fact kisses were very important.
